We believe that good design and construction starts with craftmanship- we take pride in our work and believe in using proven century old techniques when working with wood, plaster and other historic materials.

OUR WORK

Historic 7th Ward Double Shotgun

The 7th ward is one of our favorite neighborhoods in New Orleans. It's the first home to free people of color in the city and is an historically rich African- American neighborhood.

The home is a traditional double shot-gun that we kept in the original two unit configuration. We only used sustainable or reclaimed wood in the entire renovation — opting for reclaimed wood for all the trim and counter tops and sustainable new growth pine for the floors in the owner's unit.

The front windows of the house were restored after decades of being covered up- the windows are framed with reclaimed cypress which was typical of wood trim when shotguns in the 7th ward were built.  We also used plaster techniques on the walls to give the home an historic feel.

Bed Stuy, Brooklyn

Bedford Stuyvesant is one of the oldest neighborhoods in New York City. We were lucky to find the Greene Ave Brownstone nestled on a quiet tree lined street in Bed Stuy. The home didn't have many original details; except the beautiful marble fireplaces. The brownstone consist of an owners duplex, and two rental units.

The renovation consisted of complete renovation of the entire building— including  all the kitchens and bathrooms in the building. Along with a complete overall of the owner's garden.

Treme

Our newest project is a home in the historic district of the Treme.  The interior of the home will have a complete overhaul - including new kitchen, baths and bedrooms. The home will have the front facade replaced to match the original.
